The Royal Marines are the three seaborne regiments of the Royal Tierran Army. They are stationed aboard ships of the Royal Tierran Navy and are tasked with protecting Tierran diplomatic envoys. They are armed with bayonets and the standard smoothbore muskets, in some occasions, the dragonlock rifled musket was given out to the best shots. They like the infantry wore standard burnt-orange jackets with navy blue regimental facings, however unlike the land based regiments, they fought bare-foot. And are proud to do so as a member of the Royal Marines.
In Leoniscourt, due to the sour history between House Cazarosta and the Crown, Grenadier Square had appointed a garrison of at least 300 Marines to be stationed at Leoniscourt all time for "protections" towards the Island rock and the fortress of Leoniscourt.
The 3rd Royal Marine regiment was part of the involvement in the Callindrian Incident when Takarans landed their Imperial Intelligence Commando forces onto Callindria and staged a coup d'etat with the House of Orodini. The diplomatic guards under orders of the Tierran diplomat, the previous Earl of Leoniscourt, immediately spring into action and turned the Tierran embassy building into a fortress, it was said that the late Duke of Wulfram was also part of that engagement and was in command of the diplomatic guards.
Following the Battle of Blogia many marines were stripped from their respective ships and used to help replenish the losses among the Tierran infantry sustained during the battle. the 2nd Royal Marines were also presented during the Second Battle of Kharangia, as part of Baron "Havoc" Matheson's naval brigade anchored at the left flank as reinforcements.
